Competition 2006 Finalists Listed Below for book
"HEROES SMILE"
Congratulations on your Finalists standing in the PHOTOGRAPHY & ART COMPETITION 2006. This award means that your selected work will be included in the upcoming book by TCB-Cafe Publishing, scheduled for publication in April 2008.
Photo and Art Contest 2007, also for "HEROES SMILE" will beopen from August 1st, 2007 to October 31st, 2007. Winners will be announced on December 1st 2007.
This document is to address the question of: "I'm a Finalist, what do I do next?"
Answer: Layout work on the book begins in late summer, and what we need most is the high-quality digital file for your art. With this in mind, please mail on CD the following:
- A high-resolution virus-free digital file of your art. The size of the image should be between 5 x 7 and 10 x 8. The DPI must be 300 dpi.

Make sure that any color corrections, imperfections or dust and scratches on scanned images, etc. have been made before the files are sent. We will not be making any major corrections of this type. If an image has a number of these imperfections, it will not be included in the book.
- Mail a matching 8 x 10 digital print. This print will be used by the book printer to match color and sharpness with the image that you have submitted. Print should go to the address above.
- A three sentence biography, as well as a two sentence statement on what this art represents to you. Be sure to provide the correct spelling of your name, title, city, state (or country)
- If you submitted multiple images and you are unsure on which one was selected, please contact us at the email address specified for submission of images for this competition. The information will be sent to you within 7 business days after you confirm that you have submitted multiple images and the names of those files.
NOTE: All files, etc. must be received by us on or before August 10, 2007.

2) Super Heroes (photography & art)
DESCRIPTION: Super heroes have always existed, both real and imagined. Photography and art allows the artist to now capture and illustrate those fictional and non-fictional persons (and animals) as never before. Photographers and illustrators are invited to show us the Super Heroes in our world, or not of it.
Note: "Super Heroes" is for photography, painting, graphic arts, comics, manga, and photo-essay/journalism. The topic is also very open to your interpretation - entries based in reality/real life people, historic figures or fantasy (even "winged" characters can be considered super heroes).
The graphic artist and illustrator portion of the "Super Heroes" theme will be reopened for a brief period in early April 2007. Photography finalists and selected graphic entries are listed below.
