THE CAFES OF SAN FRANCISCO
Fall Cultural Event of the Season in San Francisco
September 26, 2004 - January 2, 2005
Time to celebrate cafe society with "THE CAFES OF SAN FRANCISCO: An Exhibition of America's Original Cafe Society," at San Francisco's historic Sir Francis Drake Hotel near vibrant Union Square. This exhibit tells the story of cafe culture's unique role in San Francisco's history and lifestyle, as well as its cosmopolitan influence on residents and visitors' appreciation of literature, innovation, food and drink. In addition to Paris, Rome, and Vienna, the cafes of San Francisco have long formed a unique and integral part of the cultural life of this exciting city.
"THE CAFES OF SAN FRANCISCO: An Exhibition of America's Original Cafe Society," is timed to coincide with the official publication date of the Second Edition of TCB-Cafe Publishing's best-selling book, "THE CAFES OF SAN FRANCISCO," as well as with the conclusion of the 75th Anniversary of the Sir Francis Drake Hotel. The exhibit features current and historic photographs, manuscripts, and cafe items such as dishware, cups, menus, and news & magazine articles. Events include an opening reception, fireside chats, and various cafe activities through the San Francisco Bay Area and Napa Valley. Not to be missed.
